Chief Minister's Profile

Sri Konijeti Rosaiah was born in a middle class agricultural family at Vemuru, Guntur Distrcit on 4th July 1933.

He held the following positions:

  1. He has served as student leader of Hindu College, Guntur in 1952 and elected as General Secretary.
  2. Elected as Member of A.P.Legislative Council during 1968, 1974 and 1980.  He has also acted as Leader of Opposition in A.P.Legislative Council from 1978.
  3. Elected to the Lok Sabha from Narasaraopet Constituency in the year 1998 and served on various parliamentary committees.
  4. Held the portfolio as Minister for Transport, Roads & Buildings in the Cabinet of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr.M.Channa Reddy in 1979.
  5. Held the portfolio as Minister for Transport, Housing and Commercial Taxes in the Cabinet of Chief Minister Sri T.Anjaiah in 1980.
  6. Held the Portfolio as Minister for Home in the Cabinet of Hon’ble Chief Minister,  Sri K.Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy in 1982.
  1. Held the Portfolio as Minister for Finance, Power, Transport, Handlooms & Textiles, Higher Education and Legislative Affairs in the Cabinet of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr.M.Channa Reddy in 1989.
  2. Held the Portfolio as Minister for Finance, Power and Medical & Health in the Cabinet of Chief Minister Sri. K.Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy in 1992.         
  3. Acted as President, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee during 1995-1997.
  4. Held the Portfolio as Minister for Medical & Health in the Cabinet of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri N.Janardhan Reddy in 1991 and in the Cabinet of Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy from 2005 to June 2006.
  5. Held the Portfolio as Minister for Finance, Planning, and Legislative Affairs Departments in the Cabinet of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy from May 2004 to 02-09-2009.
  6. Recipient of Doctorate from  Andhra University, Visakhapatnam during October, 2007.
  1. Elected to the State Legislative Council during April, 2009.
  2. Sworn as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 3.9.2009
