The Union Minister for Health, Mr.Gulam Nabi Azad promised
the Chief Minister, Dr.K.Rosaiah over telephone today to supply the indented
vaccines immediately from Government of India. 82,000 vaccines of Panenza have
been received from Government of India and 79,000 have been distributed to all
the teaching and District Hospitals in the State. Out of this, over 70,000
doses have been utilized to vaccinate the frontline health staff like Doctors,
Paramedical staff and staff nurses attending to the Swine Flu patients
directly. The vaccination is not required for general public. The State
Government have requested the Government of India for supplying one lakh more
doses of the vaccine.
Reviewing the
status of H1N1 with the Spl. Chief Secretary, Health, Mr.J.Satyanarayana and
senior officials at his residence today, the Chief Minister said that all
necessary steps were being taken to closely monitor the impact and contain the
Swine Flu on daily basis. The Chief Minister has directed the Health officials
to be on alert and take appropriate action to contain the spread of all
infectious diseases including swine flu in the State.
