Chief Minister Dr. K Rosaiah is likely to lay foundation
for the reconstruction of Rajagopuram of Sri Kalahasteeswara Swamy Devasthanam
at Sri Kalahasthi on 29th or 30th of this month.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting on the subject
with the Minister for Endowments and senior officials here today.
The CVR Group of Companies (Nava Yuga Constructions) has
come forward voluntarily for the reconstruction of the Rajagopuram by meeting
the entire expenditure. The Prl.Secretary, Revenue, Mr.K.V.Ramanachary has
shown the designs and blue prints of the new Rajagopuram prepared by the
department to the Chief Minister and explained that the new gopuram would be
constructed based on the designs of the old structure without any deviation and
would be as per the Agama Sastras. The construction works would however be
done under the supervision of the experts and the Government, he said. The
reconstruction of the Rajagopuram would most probably be completed in two years
time, i.e., by the end of 2012.
The IIT professors of Chennai Mr.M.S.Murthy and
Mr.Narasimharao and retired Stapathi, Mr.A.Velu, Endowments Stapathi,
Mr.S.Sundararajan; C.E., Mr.Jaganmohan Rao and Mr.C.Visweswar Rao of Navayuga
Constructions were also present.
