HYDERABAD: The Chief Minister Dr. K. Rosaiah today
positively responded to take up construction of integrated hostels and also
fill up vacancies of hostel wardens. Dr Rosaiah agreed to consider the proposal
to go in for Nabard Project for construction of integrated social welfare
hostels. He also asked the finance department to give priority to the
requirements of funds of the Social Welfare department towards salaries of
contract employees, electricity charges, cosmetic charges, rents for hostel
buildings etc. Dr Rosaiah also agreed to extend Lead India programme to the
social welfare hostels at Rs.37 lakhs.
The Chief Minister also asked the department to vastly
improve the hygienic conditions of the hostels and also facilities in the
hostels. He also agreed to release funds for construction of more bathrooms and
also compound walls for the social welfare hostels.
The Chief Minister also agreed to release funds for the
Post Matric scholarships as per the requirements. He was happy almost all
arrears have been cleared in this respect. The Principal Secretary, Social
Welfare is now acting as the nodal department for the Post Matric scholarships
scheme. The online administration and arrangement for payment of the post
matric scholarship is near completion. Hereafter the disbursement of funds will
be online through banks. The linkage with banks to be online by 20th October,
2010. The Chief Minister released an Annual Action Plan for A.P.Scheduled Caste
Cooperative Finance Corporation for the year 2010-11.

Secretary, Social Welfare, Raymond Peter, Principal Secretary, Finance,
L.V.Subramaniam and other officials attended the meeting.
