HYDERABAD: The Chief Minister Dr. K. Rosaiah today agreed
to speed up land acquisition, handing over of the land and all other issues
pertaining to new railway works. He has also informed the Union Minister of
state for Railways K H Muniappa that a Nodal Agency with Mr S.P.Singh,
Principal Secretary, Transport and Anil C.Puneeta, Principal Secretary,
Revenue, is constituted to speed up all matters relating to Railway lines. Mr
Singh will be in constant touch with the South Central Railway authorities to
clear all issues regarding new rail lines, doubling of lines, railway
over-bridges and Railway under bridges on a fast track.
The Chief Minister today had a meeting on all pending
issues regarding railways with the Union Minister of state for Railways, K H
Muniappa, General Mangar, South Central Railway, M.S. Jayanth and other senior
officials of South Central Railway and different departments of the State
Government. Dr. Rosaiah asked the State Government officials to speed up all
issues like land acquisition, rehabilitation, clearance of forest land for
railway lines etc.
In the meeting the Chief Minister handed over a cheque for
Rs.22.9 crores towards new rakes for MMTS on behalf of the Government of
Andhra Pradesh to Union Minister of state for Railways, K H Muniappa.
Commissioner, GHMC, Sameer Sharma, General Manager, SCR, Jayanth and other
officials were also present.
The Railway officials explained to the Chief Minister that
funds cannot be utilised without land availability. Special land cell to be
made for new rail line projects. They said funds are available with the
railways and this has to be spent on time. They requested that the State
Government should declare the projects as fast track projects and to be
monitored by a working group. They brought to the notice of the Chief Minister
certain issues like land acquisition, handing over etc of new lines and
Doubling of lines like Jagityal-Nizamabad (Nizamabad & Karimnagar districts),
Gadwal-Raichur Phase-I (Gadwal-Panduranga Swamy Road) (Mahabubnagar District),
Vishnupuram-Janpahad, Mandamarri-Raghavapuram 3rd line (Karimnagar & Adilabad
districts), Kadapa-Bangalore new line (Kadapa District), Manoharabad-Kothapalli
(NL), Munirabad-Mahabubnagar (Mahabubnagar District), Bhadrachalam Road-Sattupalli,
Samalkot-Kakinada Port (East Godavari District), GNSS Project Ch 6100 & 6250 m
(Kadapa District), Canal Crossing and Dhone-Nandyal (Kurnool District).
They also brought to the notice of the Chief Minister
certain issues like Road Under Bridges / Road Over Bridges: RUB at Fathenagar
Station in Hyderabad, ROB at Ramavarappadu (Deposit work) VUDA (Vijayawada
Urban Development Authorities)and ROB at Level Crossing No.55 between
Mahabubnagar and Jadcherla Stations. The State Government officials also
agreed to speed up and clear issues concerning Railway Projects like Nudurpadu
Crossing (Guntur District), Potlapadu New Crossing (Guntur District),
Satyavalli Crossing (Guntur District), Nandipalli Crossing (Kurnool District),
Divitipalli Crossing (Mahabubnagar District), Mungalipattu Crossing and
Guntakal-Kalluru Gauge Conversion (Anantapur District).
Besides the Union Minister of state for Railways, K H
Muniappa and General Manger, SCR, Jayanth and other top Railway officials,
Chief Secretary, S V Prasad, Principal Secretaries of Revenue, Transport,
Irrigation, Energy, MD, Singareni Collieries, Chief Engineers and other State
Government officials attended the meeting.
