Ladies and Gentlemen
I am very happy to be here and participate in this function
arranged on the occasion of handing over of Fuelling Machine Assembly for AHWR
(300 MWe) to Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai.
I am indeed excited to be in the midst of our nation’s
Great scientists and engineers in this field.
I congratulate Sri P.Ravindra Reddy, Chairman, all the
Directors and staff of MTAR Technologies on this happy occasion.
It is a fact that MTAR Technologies Private Limited,
Hyderabad, is known for its quality technology and for their contribution to
Nationally important organizations in the country. They are in the field of
precision machining, fabrication, assembly and testing, catering to the needs of
Department of Atomic Energy, Nuclear Power Corporation, Indian Space Research
Organization (ISRO) and Ministry of Defence.
We in Andhra Pradesh feel proud of MTAR contributing their
might for Nationally important programs.
I understand that Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC)
Mumbai has placed this prestigious developmental order on MTAR due to their
confidence in the competence of MTAR and their infrastructure and
innovativeness. The successful completion of manufacture of Fuelling Machine by
MTAR is indeed an important Milestone.
I can see the huge Fuelling Machine of 65 feet tall and I
appreciate the efforts that MTAR has put in not only for completion of
components to its specifications, but also for assembly, sub-assemblies and
final integration of the assembly and its erection in the specially built huge
I am told that MTAR is also manufacturing other very
intricate items for 500 MWe Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam.
Government of Andhra Pradesh will definitely facilitate
our Industries to take to manufacturing of Nuclear Power Equipment.
I also request the dignitaries present here to look into it
seriously and support our industry in all possible ways enhancing the
manufacturing activity in this prospective segment.
I wish the Industry all the very best for its growth and
also to capture orders for future Nuclear export market.
Nuclear energy can be one of the most potent means for
India’s long term energy security. It has traditionally played a small role in
meeting our energy requirements. With the signing of 123 Indo-US Civil nuclear
agreement and other nations joining to support India, the future of Indian
civilian nuclear power industry landscape can be astronomical.
You are aware that nuclear power is the cleanest and most
non-polluting and environmentally non-inimical. The peaceful use of nuclear
fission and fusion for generation of electric power is one of the greatest
technological developments. Countries which do not have adequate reserves of
fossil fuels like coal, coke, and great rivers for generation of hydro –power
are doing well to take to the production of nuclear power. 78% of the energy in
France which has no huge oil and coal, is generated in nuclear power stations.
Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Japan, USA and Russia are also significant
producers of nuclear power.
Government of Andhra Pradesh is very keen to have a few
Nuclear Power Plants established in view of acute shortage of power to the
industries in Andhra Pradesh. I am sure that Department of Atomic Energy will
extend its support in this regard.
Further, Atomic Minerals Directorate has carried out
explorations for Uranium in the Kadapa Basin and indicated that
uranium-mineralization extends over a belt of 160 KM.
M/s.Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL), a
Government of India undertaking is planning to establish uranium based plant in
Pulivendula of Kadapa District.
Government of Andhra Pradesh has granted Mining lease over
an extent of about 800 hectares for a period of 30 years. The project is in
I am very happy that Mr. P. Ravindra Reddy, who is also the
president of Aerospace Manufacturers Association, has formed a group of
industries by name SAMUHA Industries and is in the process of establishing of
Aerospace SEZ in Hyderabad which is notified by Government of India.
I wish MTAR Technologies all the very best in its future
